...to even the scoreOct 14, 2011
By Wb Johnston ..did a lot of research before buying the Samson. Watched a lot of YouTube videos which compared
this juicer to several models by Omega. The prices for a comparable model were the same...there were
two deciding factors:
(1 The Samson (unlike the Omega) will protect the motor from over-heating and burnout.
(2 The Samson - again unlike the Omega - has an optional, very sturdy, attachment for pressing flax seed
sesame seed, etc oils
Both the Samson 9005 and the Omega models yield about the same juice quantity.
However, when I read the reviews on Amazon.com I was struck by the fact that the Samson was not rated as
highly. The overall average was lower mainly because there were fewer reviews and one of these was extremely
negative.
The negative review stated that juice leaked from the motor end of the machine.
Well, the truth is, I had to learn how to line up the feedtube/grinding end properly with the machine
housing. If you don't get it just right, the ring that holds them together will not make a proper seal.
I too thought mine was defective...I just had to learn the patience to get it right. This is a precision tool.
The negative review stated that the juice yield was extremely low.
Again, I'm sorry, but it pays to read the instructions that come with the juicer - and watch the DVD.
Also watching someone use this machine on YouTube is highly instructive.
The instructions explicitly say that
a) you should process small amounts, cutting vegetables into small pieces. BTW, this also dramatically
reduces foaming and pulp in the juice
b) you should use 'stringy' vegetables (like celery) to push softer fruits like lemon and apple through.
I almost never write a review.
I understand that occasionally someone gets a machine with quality control issues - but after thoroughly
enjoying mine, I just thought I ought to even the score.
This is a superb juicer.

A real tease!Dec 11, 2011

Bought Omega VRT350 "Heavy Duty" for juicing wheat grass. I liked the slightly smaller footprint but...wrong decision! The grass kept getting stuck. We had to keep stopping, reversing, giving up, cleaning, retrying until it was hopeless. Hard to clean too. Too many nooks and crannies. Returned it in a week and purchased this Samson "Advanced" Multipurpose machine (cheaper than the Omega too). It worked MUCH better and it was a cinch to clean. We were really happy for a month until the plastic end-cap broke (which rendered it inoperable)! Crummy design/material flaw as far as I'm concerned. So now we returned that too. God Bless Amazon and their return policy! I don't care if it's a 10-15 year warantee if I have to replace the end-cap monthly (or glue it, or wait for the next plastic part to pop)! Did they ever hear of stainless steel or "made in America"? So after a total of 15 hours research, reading reviews and watching vids on YouTube, we sprung for the all stainless steel Super-Angel. We'll see....

My New JucierOct 19, 2011
By oahuplace I really like my new juicer and use it every morning to may Green Lemonade. I haven't expanded my juicing skills or used any of the many attachments, but I really plan to start. There are a lot more moving parts than my friends, but it is still fairly easy to clean.

Great wheatgrass juicerAug 30, 2010

I had misgivings about buying a plastic wheatgrass juicer since so many high end ones are metal, but I heard great things about this juicer and it costs significantly less than a metal one. I am very glad I purchased it. The wheatgrass pulp comes out extraordinarily dry. The pulp is dryer than the metal machines I used before. It can do carrots and harder veggies if cut up. It does great on greens, such as kale. Easy to clean. I have only had it for three weeks, but so far, excellent.
