Beautiful build but coarse flourFeb 14, 2012
By Health Nut I had to rate this mill four stars as it is so absolutely beautiful and durably built. The woodwork of the case is absolutely gorgeous and the mechanicals of the mill are like a finely made Rolls Royce. It breaks my heart that when I tested the flour produced against my less expensive mills (a Nutrimill and a Fidibus Classic) I found it to be much more coarse and grainy. If you are interested in making baked goods with a grainier more rustic texture then you will love this mill. I use my homemade flours for cakes, cookies and breads that require a nice powder fine flour. In my opinion, a mill as expensive as this one should produce a finer flour. This mill is also MUCH quieter than my Fidibus Classic which is also a stone mill. If you like a slightly more coarse flour, then this mill would absolutely be the one to buy and probably last you a lifetime. If you want the very finest grind possible, then I would suggest you consider the Nutrimill or the mills produced by Wolfgang Mock. To me the flour produced by this mill is unacceptable, especially for the price. Finally, Amazon's service is totally flawless and I would definitely buy your mill from them.
