Drying food is fun! The Excalibur Dehydrator allows you to dry anything evenly and efficiently. The unit can dry all fruits, vegetables, meats, and more! Make fruit leathers and home-made jerky - FRESH! The Excalibur has a trademarked horizontal-airflow drying system which dries foods perfectly evenly on all the trays. Dehydrating is a great way to add a new way of consuming foods without damaging valuable nutrients which may be lost during high heat cooking! Dried foods are a great treat to snack on because they hold almost all of their nutritional value and flavor. This unit differs from other dehydrators because of its unique horizontal drying system in the rear of the unit. sara's garden creationsJul 31, 2010 I have many fruit trees and I plant a lot of vegetables so I do use it a lot, the noise does not bother me at all, I got the one with out timer, I use the raw process, so it takes a while, I just want to get the paper sheets because when you dry your fruit your trays can get very sticky.

Dehydrator is excellentJul 24, 2010 I used the Excalibur to dry tomatoes. I was very pleased with the resulting product. The color is really good and the concentration of tomato flavor is great. I look forward to using these in soups and stews all winter. You can use them just like sun dried tomatoes. It also did a great job drying oregano.
amazing food dryerJul 19, 2010 This dehydrator is an amazing way to preserve all those foods that dont keep long, or the ones you just couldn't eat before they were ready to rot. Just rinse and toss in the Excalibur, and let it dry.
Quick and quiet! What a treat!

Better than my RoncoMar 15, 2010 This product is better than my fanless Ronco convection round dehydrator...but It's not all that it was cracked up to be...the upper and lower trays take longer to dehydrate and the middle trays dehydrate unevenly front to back and do require rotation AFTERALL or you get leathery and hard dried fruits/vegies or jerkies...The metal back plate that houses the fan is CHEAPED up to thin for the application and is responsible for most of the noise from this machine as it vibrates like crazy. A more riged/thicker sheet metal would have made this a much quieter machine...just holding the back panel down w/ my hand decreased the noise level 50%...I do like that you can double space the trays to dry larger items like halved tomatoes...It works much better when trays are halved and larger produce is dried...All in all it's a buy, but it's not the end all product it could have been with 50 cents more worth of sheet metal and a secound fan one upper and lower instead of one in the middle...then they would have built a better mousetrap...I would have 35-50 more bucks for this imaginary model dehydrator!
xcalibur 9 tray dehydratorFeb 11, 2010 I have only done one set of beef jerky in this machine and it worked perfectly, My old dehydrator was the round one that had no fan or temp controll and took about 24 hours to do with me checking all the time to see if it was ready.
I dried my batch of jerky in about seven and a half hours with this machine and just love it. (every one said this was the best jerky I have ever made)
