520 years of Outstanding ServiceDec 19, 2007
By Rocannon MacGregor "zenfire"
As a natural therapist I have had juicers that cost from $2,600 down to $99. This includes the Norwark, J&J Green Power and the Champion. The reason I recommend Champion juicers is due to the fact that they are the ones that I have found most people will use regularly. this is because the juice is tasty, the power of the motor makes them tough and long-lasting, and they are fairly easy to clean. Plus they can make the frozen fruit ice cream with a Champion.

I just bought one for my adult daughter and she is thrilled. My first Chapmpion is still going strong after 20 years of nearly daily use. It makes good quality juice, fast and easy. I have used mine to prepare juice for up to 20 people and never had one problem with it.

Cleaning is easy. Assembly is easy. I never filter my juice. Taste is great if you use good quality fruits and vegetables. If you want a juicer that will last your lifetime I can highly recommend this one.

4Champion Vs. Jack LaLanne JuicerMay 06, 2008
By Spirals
I inherited my mom's Jack LaLanne juicer not too long ago and decided to start juicing for the family. My sister enjoyed the juice so much that she "stole" my juicer and I went and got a Champion Juicer. I'm happier with the Champion juicer, but there are still some things I miss about the LaLanne juicer.

Juice - Champion juice is much thicker and does not waste a single bit of juice in the fruits/veggies. Everyone says they like it better and it's more filling than the LaLanne juice. Though you can easily strain it if you don't like thick juice. I also notice I can get more juice out of fruits and veggies than before.

Cleaning - Champion is 100 times easier to clean up. LaLanne would just spit the juice out of the spout and end up all over the wall, counter, etc. Also, I would struggle to take apart the LaLanne machine to clean all the different parts. Champion, you just pull out the spout and take it apart in the sink. Very easy cleaning.

Food chute - With LaLanne, I could drop in nice large sizes and fill it up then plunger it in. Now I have to take a little longer in prep to make sure it all fits into Champion's small chute.

Noise - Champion is much quieter and since I juice in the early morning, I no longer have to worry about waking anyone up.

Constant juicing - Surprisingly I had no problems juicing everything non stop in my LaLanne juicer. When I juice certain items (celery, pineapple) in the Champion, I will have to clean out the inside before juicing anything else as the fibers will jam up the blades making them almost useless. Also, if you juice a lot of stuff at once (I make about 8-14 cups at a time) you will notice it gets harder and the pulp starts backing up into the food chute.

All in all, I'm much happier with my champion and juicing actually seems a bit more fun. If you were thinking about upgrading your juicer or starting off big, then Champion is definitely worth it. If you just want a basic juicer that makes good juice, than the LaLanne juicer is more than adequate.

2Yet to discover where the greatness isMay 26, 2007
By Iryna "Iryna"
I just made a first batch of juice on my newly arrived Champion Commercial Juicer. Perhaps I had too high expectations for the masticating juicer as I've mostly used Breville brand which I love (centrifugal). It was dissapointing to see how much juice was still contained in the pulp and how much pulp seeped into the juice itself. I am not particularly crazy about straining my juice after it comes out of the juicer. The feeding tube is so tiny you have to quarter an apple for it to fit in. Not as easy to clean as Breville either, even though it's definitely a plus that you don't have to worry about the pulp collecting in the juicer and can go on indefinitely. At least that's what I hear. Still my main qualms are the fact that it takes a rather long time to juice on this juicer and the quality of the juice itself, I like mine as free of pulp as possible.

5Juicing is NOT its Most Valuable FeatureNov 07, 2008

This machine can change your lifestyle. I discovered it in Hawaii, where it was being used to make a frozen pure-fruit custard that was better than any sorbet I've ever tasted. I bought one immediately when I got home, and set it up within five minutes. Clear instructions come with the machine for making juice with or without pulp, ice-cream-like fruit desserts, vegetable purees, and other purees of wonderfully smooth consistency. It's very easy to use, even with fruit that has skin, like peaches. The very best frozen fruit so far has been mango, with pineapple-banana a close second, especially on hot days. I've also used the Champion Juicer to extract juice from blood oranges and grapefruit. Some other reviewers express dissatisfaction with the Champ as a simple juice-maker. I can't contradict them, since I seldom make simple juice. It's the frozen fruit custard that makes this gadget valuable to me.

It's quite easy to clean, requiring just cold water. Storage is not a problem, since the intake funnel can be disassembled. It's heavy, yes, but the motor is quite powerful and the whole construction is sturdy enough for daily use. Replacement parts are available if and when needed. The place in Hawaii said they'd been using the same machine, with no new parts, to make dozens of servings every day for several years.

For a guy like me with an ice-cream craving in the late evening, this "champion" will add years to my life instead of inches to my waistline. Years to my marriage also implied.

5Great juicerMar 03, 2011
By L. Baker
I recieved this juicer two days ago and I love it. My BFF has a champion juicer and at first I wasn't sold on getting one. It seemed so complicated, it sort of intimidated me just from the way it looked, so I got the Jack Lalane instead. I used the JL for a few months and then it just became tiring. I felt like I was getting a work out by juicing. It didn't help that everytime I would see my BFF juicing she seemed to be doing it effortlessly. So last week I gave my JL away, and ordered a Champion. Boy am I glad I did. It is sooooo much easier juicing with this machine. I put the veggies in, and they come out as juice, no stopping the machine to get stuck peices of carrots out. The only bad thing I can say about this machine is that you have to chop the fruits and veggies into small enough peices to fit through the shoot. With the Jack Lalane that was not so much a problem, as the shoot was big enough to fit a medium sized apple through it. Don't get me wrong the JL is a good juicer if you only want to juice carrots, apples, cucumbers, celery, and beets. It works quite well doing those items, and if you don't juice that often then it may be a fit for you. But if you juice every day or even at least twice a week, then you need a juicer with more power and a better grinding plate than the JL. The champion just makes juicing so effortless. I don't have to keep pounding the veggie tamper, I can literally put the fruit or veggie in, and barely push on the tamper and out comes my juice. I made a green juice this morning with some baby kale, an apple, some cucumber, half a lemon and some watercrest, talk about yummy! It took me less than 10 minutes to make it, and clean the machine. BTW cleaning it is a whole lot easier than the JL with all of it's parts. Cold water and a cleaning brush does the trick. I got the Commercial one in Silver, it's all one color, I was worried looking at the pictures, it looks like the base is Silver and the cutter/filter area is white, it's not, so it looks fantastic on my kitchen counter.
