I needed a blender and a mixer. I almost bought the Kitchen Aid many times, but keep reading about the nightmare many had over the 'NEW' Kitchen Aid machine, one of the review pointed to a Bosch. Meanwhile I bought a Vita Mix from Costco, love the power but cannot live with the size and how much room it takes on the counter. As I do more research on the internet about blender, I came across the Blectec Blender and it seems to have a product very similar to the Bosch unit but more powerful, American Made and cheaper. Hesitated for a few weeks, as the motor on the Mix and Blend is only 2/3 of the Blendtec Blender. Finally found a site that will allow a 30days money back. I have not regret buying this unit for a single minute.
The unit fits under the counter, the blade is not sharp and the jar is much easier to clean than the Vita Mix. It makes smoothies as good if not better than the Vita Mix. It has pre programed settings that do varies speed and makes a perfect smoothie, also used it for Almond milk, what a treat! The mixer is wonderful, it somehow detects the gluten level of the bread and stops itself. The unit looks small, but it holds a huge amount of ingredients.
Best of all, it takes the place of a Kitchen Aid around $350, and a really powerful blender around $400. I have all the power and the features in this compact powerful unit costing under $350, and American Made.

I LOVE THIS MACHINE!
I make alot of bread and bread products and I have had no mixer that compares to this one. This machine is loud (it is a big job machine) but wow, does it get the job done. An "Auto Knead" feature...what a great idea...
I've had many, many different stand mixers and this one is top of the line and my favorite. This mixer does it all and it's light weight compared to others. This machine takes up very little counter space compared to other machines in its class.
I'm in Love...
Thank you BlendTec for making a stand mixer that does far more than what it claims and is worth the investment!

Various beaters to do every job, mix up cookies, whip cream or knead bread. Various speeds let you have just the right speed for whatever you are mixing up. The blender is much more heavy duty than most and mixes up great milkshakes or smoothies with frozen fruit or ice cream. Easy clean up as well.

I use my Blendtec Mix 'N Blend II every day - often two to three times every day. Most mornings my husband has a smoothie for breakfast. Every few days I make bread in the mixing bowl. I make mayonnaise and ranch dressing in the blender. Weekly I make pancakes and other batters. Everything cleans easily. The only troubles I have arise when I don't use enough liquid for smoothies or recipes I'm creating and I cause an overheat. When that happens, the machine tells you it's over temperature and stops working until it has cooled down. I just turn it off, unplug it, wait several minutes to let it cool, add liquid, and start using it again. I've even called customer service to ask questions and get the Mix 'N Blend registered for the warranty - the people were GREAT, helpful, and even e-mailed me a recipe to try with the blender portion. I LOVE the Mix 'N Blend II. :-)

My husband and I purchased this Blendtec after watching a Demo, we were so impressed with this product and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend the Blendtec for making anything from great bread dough, cookies, mashed potatoes, light and super fluffy whipped cream, and fantastic smoothies. This unit fits in our cabinet easily. Like another reviewer we were considering the Kitchen Aid, but are glad we found Blendtec because it can do so much more!
