Live in an area of hard water?Jun 13, 2007
By joel I've been using it for several days. My hair
feels much better. I would recommend this
one. One weebit of a problem...The plastic used
in the making of this product leaves a strong
ordor in the air. Hopefully it will go away.

My Aquasana STINKS....Literally! Help!Nov 02, 2007
By Amazonian I just installed my Aquasana AQ-4105. IT SMELLS LIKE MELTING VINYL!!
I've been running the water through it for about an hour and a half now and there is still a horrible vinyl-like odor coming from the water. Something from the hose or casing is definitely out-gasing into the filtered water.
I'd hate to think that I believed I was doing something good for my health when in reality I could be showering in water that is more toxic than the unfiltered water I started out with.
Before installation my water had no odor at all. I'm concerned that the Aquasana AQ-4150 is adding some toxic plastic based chemical (benzene?) to the water. I'm surprised that only one other person has mentioned this. My entire apartment smells of this "chemical."
I wish I didn't make this costly improvement to my shower! UGH!!! BLECH!!!

Great - Better than expectedFeb 13, 2007
By Richard Booker I've noticed a great improvement on my shower quality. Hair feels cleaner/softer. I will continue to buy future replacement filters because of the positive change.

Good Filter - Poor Shower HeadMar 24, 2008
By Nancy There is no doubt that the filter improves the shower - our skin is not nearly so dry and itchy. We recently let our filter stay in to long, and when we changed to a new filter, felt an immediate difference.
HOWEVER the wand portion split after less than a year and though they replaced it and gave good service, we had to pay $12 for shipping. ?! It was a chaotic time of life and I didn't have the time to argue.
Now the place where the shower head and hose meet have sprung several leaks. We just put our old shower head on and it works fine - but we are very disappointed.
Go for the filter - do your own shower head.

great price, great filterFeb 16, 2008
By A. Watkins I started out a bit of a skeptic, but decided to give this shower filter a try. I am very glad I did! Also, the shower head is great and has excellent pressure. My sensitive skin has been a problem for me (itchy back/winter dryness) but now, I'm thinking most of the problem has been the chlorine and other chemicals in my water. I've also noticed an improvement in my hair, and my shower doesn't get all those icky rusty looking stains anymore. Highly recommend this product.
