L'Equip FilterPro Food DehydratorMar 10, 2009
By ROADHAWG Nice unit, smartly designed and easy to use. I'm primarily making beef jerky, and trying different recipes is a lot of fun. I got unit for Christmas and have made 5 batches of jerky. Loved doing it and the jerky was I have to admit is very good.
That last batch of jerky was where my problem started, about an hour before the jerky was finished the dehydrator started completely losing power. Fan would shut off, the LEDs went off, but a rap on the side would get it to run for a while. I had to do this a couple of times got that batch of jerky finished.
I called Kitchen Resources (the number on the enclosed warranty information) and told them what was happening. They told me they would send me a new base (it was all I needed the rest is trays, lid, etc., no moving parts). Well a few days later a whole new units shows up, I swapped out the base units, (I really fought the urge to take additional trays). Retaped the box, used the supplied prepaid UPS shipping label and sent it back.
Kitchen Resources could not have made this any easier. With a 12 year warranty that is truely honored. Kitchen Resources should be proud of themselves and their products!

Ok but very uneven from tray to tray.Feb 15, 2011

"Visit my Amazon Profile page!"
This is a nice looking piece of equipment. The timer and temperature control are very convenient. I have not had a problem with clean up as I have not used anything that drips to the bottom.
The major complaint I have is that the very bottom tray is to close to a big central area at the bottom of the unit that only a small portion of the bottom tray has air flow - so the drying is very uneven on that tray AND every tray you add on top is cooler by a couple degrees.
I put an external thermometer (remote sensor) into each tray, and down down down went the temperature with each tray stacked up. I only used at most 4 trays, and even with 4, the bottom two will dry much much faster than the top 2. Requires therefore some careful watching.
If you dried something that dripped, it might gunk up the mechanism for dispersing the hot air at the bottom, but it is pretty well covered and might not be a problem.
On the whole, it does the job OK but not superbly.
Because of the good controls, and the fact that the temperatures are the same from run to run with the same settings, and the timer controls, I am happy. It does have the above drawbacks.

Service - What A Joke!Jul 17, 2009
By Joe Babic I received the L Equip FilterPro Food Dehydrator on July 3. The weekend of the 4th I started drying some apples. Everything ok. A few days later started drying $25.00 worth of apricots. About 11 hours after starting, the unit turned off and would not restart. Called the 800 warranty number and had to leave a message. No return call. Since I am about 20 miles from the importer in North Salt Lake, Utah (the unit is made in Korea)I called their 801 regular number. Was greeted by a "Good Morning, service department" individual. I explained the problem and asked if I could just bring the defective unit in and have it repaired. "we don't repair defective units" was the response. He was willing to send me a new unit! Only problem was he would not have any in for THREE TO FOUR WEEKS!
I replied that maybe I should return the defective unit to Amazon and order a competitive brand. He replied "That's probably a good idea"!
Buyer beware if you are concerned about timely warranty repairs.

GREAT BUY!!!!!Dec 19, 2010
By lifeisgood2tome I LOVE this dehydrator! I have been wanting one for a long time and decided to spend more and get more. I made the right decision with this dehydrator. I have used it for jerky, fruits and drying some salt dough crafts so far. It has met my expectations and it was worth every penny!
I love the timer and auto turn off feature and I love that the air is filtered. I really like the shape of the trays too, there is more room to put more stuff in it.
