4Not a bad machineFeb 25, 2009
By Lawrence C. Hatcher
Just after I ordered Jack LaLane's Express juicer, I came upon the L'Equip. After reading the specs on the L'Equip, I hoped for the best with Jack LaLane's Express. : /

I've had several juicers over the years and the Express was actually a pretty nice machine. However it only worked for about a month. Customer Service was hard to run down but finally I was able to return it. Did I say I had to pay an extra $15 for only a 3 year warranty? That says a lot about the lack of confidence they had in their own product.

The L'Equip comes with a 6 year warranty - for free.

It's also slightly louder than the Express but not terribly so, but the motor is much stronger than the Express and has a higher RPM.

The design is very much like the Juiceman Jr. except it has a wide feeder chute. However "wide feeder chute" is a misnomer because there's a wedge within the chute. Well obviously this defeats the purpose of having a wide chute to begin with since there's a wedge inside, but apparently the purpose of the wedge it to keep the produce from spinning around inside the chute.

The high rpm occasionally results in produce being rapidly and violently being bounced back out of the chute but you adjust to that after a bit.

The wedge inside the L'Equip is pretty much the only thing I dislike about this machine though. I enjoyed the wide chute on the Express and it made juicing quite fast, but you have to take an extra step of cutting to accommodate the wedge inside the L'Equip.

It cleans well but you should remember to lift the bowl and pour out the little bit of extra juice that's left over when you're finished juicing.

I like mine and use it regularly but all machines take some time to adjust to and overall in my opinion, this machine beats the Juiceman Jr and the Express.

5Good juicer for a good priceJan 05, 2009
By Keri "Mom of 3"
This is a good juicer for the price. It does as well as advertised. The only cons are: if you are juicing a lot of fruit/veggies you need to clean out the pulp fairly frequently, you don't want your juicer to sit too long after using it (it is easiest to clean as soon as you are done juicing). I use a toothbrush to clean the blade/basket. The pros: Good quality, strong motor, makes great juice, and fits nicely into cabinets or onto the counter itself (good size). Overall I would highly recommend this juicer.

3Not very efficientSep 23, 2009
By D. Wiltshire
You get what you pay for. This does not do an efficient job of juicing. I juice a lot of carrots and apples, and while it accommodates small and medium sized apples, along with several carrots, there is too much substance wasted in the pulp. The pulp is usually very moist, and it is evident that more juice could be extracted from it. Overall, I gave this a 3-star rating, indicating that it is OK. It juices, which is what it is designed to do; it can accommodate whole apples up to a specific size, along with larger pieces of fruit/vegetables. My only problem is that it is not an efficient juicer. I am back on the market looking for one that would give me more juice from my fruits and vegetables, and less waste.

4Awesome, but not BPA-Free!Apr 09, 2010
By Andrea Z
I haven't found a juicer that is BPA-free. If it wasn't for that, I'd give this juicer 5-stars. I chose to get this juicer after reading several reviews. I decided to keep it even tho the top cover is Polycarbonate. The juice that is extracted is in a stainless bowl, and the blades are stainless as well, so the part we consume will not really heat up or touch the plastic. Clean up is a breeze. I use cold water on the polycarbonate and a toothbrush and warm water on the screen. Took about 5 minutes or less.

Now for the juicy part (pardon my pun!).... I'm a newbie in the juicing arena. I couldn't be more satisfied! The juice comes out quickly and easily! I am amazed! The machine is much quieter than I expected. I have a toddler at home who's bedroom is next to the kitchen. I made juice after he went to be and he did not wake up. The loudest part of the process is the few seconds it takes to grind down the veggie or fruit. After that, the machine just purrs.

The pulp is quite dry. I tried running it thru a second time and did not get any more juice out of it.

I did take the pulp and put it into a large stock pot. I boiled it (I had a lot of carrots and other veggies) and made a ton of veggie stock. I strained the pulp out of it and then will use the discarded pulp in my compost pile.

I purchased the black juicer and I have to say it's very nice looking! It's large and hefty, so I don't think I'll be putting it away. It's nice enough to look at so I'll be keeping it on our counter for daily juicing.

Overall, I'm very excited about the juicing possibilities that await. I'm very pleased. I'm new at this but based on other people's reviews and my limited experience, I'd say this will be a good purchase for a long time! I might need to upgrade sometime down the line (altho I'm not sure why... I'd love to get a replacement plastic covering that is BPA-free however when they begin to produce them) but for now, if you're new to this or looking for a nice, durable machine with a great warranty, go for this one!

5Very pleasedOct 09, 2009
By dr. lowbrow
I did quite a bit of homework before selecting this juicer -- and I am glad I ended up with this one. It was the best balance of ease of use, reputation for reliability, and price.

It is easy to use and has juiced everything I've thrown at it very well. It cleans in about 1 minute.
