I love the filter, in the short time I've had it it has made my skin, hair and even my shower experience a lot better. My hair is silky and has not look this shiny in a long time. Also my brother used to get an allergic reaction after taking a shower at our new place, which does not happen anymore. & I don't have to use as much body lotion as before.

Living in the top floor with low water pressure I was a little nervous about installing a filter. However, after the installation which lasted all of 5 min. or less, I was so surprised that the pressure was better. It was probably due in some part to a new nozzle and maybe more back-pressure, not sure. After using the unit for a week the results are just awesome. My hair is softer and you can really feel the difference on your face.
Dr. Oz has spoken about the importance of a shower filter on Oprah. Dr. Mercola has spoken about using one on his web site and Kevin Trudeau has written about it in his book "Natural Cures". So stop procrastinating and go out and get a filter. But from the ratings this one seems top of the line as far as percent of chlorine removed. Although a lower prices on the replacement filters would be nice or a video on youtube on how to rebuild them would be a great help.

After 1 month charcoal (?) flakes began to appear in the tub. Worked fine until then but who can afford $42 dollars a month.

At this point I've showered through twenty of these filters without a problem. I once tried to smash one open to examine the inside (an expired one, of course). I used a hammer and gave it several blows. Would you believe that the plastic would not crack? I cannot understand anyone saying that this item is poorly made. I am very satisfied with this product which I use to ward off the harmful effects of chlorine.
Installation: Follow the instructions; you should be okay. You're going to need teflon tape, otherwise known as "plumber's tape". This is an ultra thin white tape which assures a good connection, available at any hardware store, Lowes or Home Depot. Buy it, then ask someone in the plumbing department to show you how to use it.
The adjustable showerhead was too snug at first, but eventually loosened so that it could easily be turned left, right, up or down. Absolutely no loss in water pressure, quite possibly even stronger. The variance is from needle shower to wide spray; I generally use something in between, though I do appreciate a good needle shower every once in a while. Care to join me? Please respond. Los Angeles tap water too filthy to drink so I didn't want our pores to soak up that water either. I bought the aquasana shower water filter and the sink filter also. It fits perfectly, the water feels smoother, and their customer support is great! Highly recommended!
